Connect Stripe
Settings → Payments. You are taken to Stripe to open or connect an account — bank details, ID, the usual. It is their form, not ours, and the details never reach us.
Until it is connected, the public invoice page still works and shows the invoice; it just has no Pay button.
Turning the link on for an invoice
Open a sent invoice and enable its payment link. Email it, text it, or copy the URL and send it however you like.
When somebody pays
The payment is recorded against the invoice, the invoice moves to paid or partial, and the journal entries are posted. Stripe's fee is recorded as an expense rather than quietly netted off — a thousand billed and nine hundred and ninety-eight received is two facts, and the books should hold both.
Payments that arrive with no invoice on them
Somebody pays a link, or pays the wrong amount, and nothing matches. Those land in Payments waiting to be matched. Press Find the invoice, pick it, done. Set aside for anything that genuinely is not a customer payment.
